Pre-Deadline Hockey Deals

On the day before the NHL trade deadline which is tomorrow at 3 pm. There were plenty of trades and some shook the NHL landscape.

Several contenders added pieces or picks for their playoff run or later usage. However the biggest deal was the one that included Roberto Luongo going back to the Florida Panthers.

The deal between the Vancouver Canucks and Florida Panthers sent Luongo back to Florida with prospect Steven Anthony in exchange for young netminder Jacob Markstrom and Shawn Mattias.

Other high level deals included Martin Erat being sent to the Phoenix Coyotes, Viktor Fasth going to Edmonton, Washington adding power forward Dustin Penner and Ilya Bryzgalov going to the Minnesota Wild.
