NFL & MLB news: Orioles sign OF Cruz, Harbaugh nearly dealt to Browns

In the National Football League and Major League Baseball rumors are always swirling, most notably from the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Orioles.

Jim Harbaugh, the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers was in talks to be traded to the Cleveland Browns, in exchange for draft picks ala the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Oakland Raiders trade of Jon Gruden.

However according to, Harbaugh released this statement on the matter, “Harbaugh told ESPN’s Ed Werder via text: “I echo Jed York’s comment … ‘isn’t true.’ I know nothing about a trade with the Cleveland Browns and us, involving me.”

A trade of this magnitude might’ve made the Browns into a much better team, but remember the Niners have gone to three straight NFC title games and one Super Bowl under Harbaugh. So keeping him is important especially with the defending champion Seahawks in the same division.

In the other sports news, this one concerning the Baltimore Orioles, as per have agreed to terms on a one year deal with former Texas Ranger OF Nelson Cruz. Cruz finished last season with a .266 batting average, 27 home runs and 76 runs batted in with Texas. He was also one 12 player’s suspended 50 games for their roles in Biogenesis.

In other NFL news the 49ers rivals the Seattle Seahawks will be releasing Sidney Rice, as per media reports.
