2014 NBA Trade Deadline Grades

The National Basketball Association’s trade deadline has come and gone yesterday. Some teams have made improvements for their playoff hopes, while others are shoring up for the future.

Notable moves:

Indiana Pacers acquire Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Danny Granger and a 2nd round draft pick. Grade-Pacers get an A+.

Washington Wizard pick up Andre Miller in a three team trade including the Denver Nuggets (got Jan Vesely) and the Sixers (received two 2nd round picks). Grade- Wizards get a B.

Charlotte Bobcats trade Ramon Sessions and Jeff Adrien to the Milwaukee Bucks for Gary Neal and Luke Ridnour. Grade- Bobcats receive a C, may change to a B should this move pan out.

Los Angeles Lakers send Steve Blake to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for MarShon Brooks and Kent Bazemore. Grade-Warriors get an A.

Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings make a deal sending Reggie Evans and Jason Terry to the Kings for Marcus Thornton. Grade-Nets pick up a B.

Notable players not moved:

Carmelo Anthony, Iman Shumpert and Raymond Felton (New York Knicks), Rajon Rondo (Boston Celtics), Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves) and Pau Gasol (Los Angeles Lakers).

In additional news the Brooklyn Nets may be on the verge of signing former Net, Celtic, Grizzlie, Hawk, Timber wolf and Wizard. Collins would become the first openly gay player to play for an NBA team.
