Major League Baseball Awards Winners/Predictions

MLB has announced finalists for AL/NL Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, MVP and CY Young awards.

Winners already announced:

NL Rookie of the Year- Jose Fernandez, SP, Miami Marlins. Jose Fernandez defeated his top competition in his position in the St. Louis Cardinals Shelby Miller and Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig.

AL Rookie of the Year- Wil Myers, OF, Tampa Bay Rays. Wil Myers defeated teammate, Rays pitcher Chris Archer and former Boston Red Sox and current Detroit Tigers SS Jose Iglesias.

AL Manager of the Year- Terry Francona, Cleveland Indians. Francona, guided the Indians from last place to within a game of facing the Red Sox. He outlasted Boston’s World Series Champion manager John Farrell, who also happened to be Francona’s pitching coach in Boston.

NL Manager of the Year- Clint Hurdle, Pittsburgh Pirates. Hurdle led the Pirates to their best record and first playoff appearance in nearly 20 years.

Predictions:

AL MVP, Finalists: Miguel Cabrera, 3B, Detroit Tigers, Mike Trout, OF, Los Angeles Angels, Chris Davis, 1B, Baltimore Orioles. Winner: Cabrera wins the award again due to leading his team into the postseason.

NL MVP, Finalists: Paul Goldschmidt, 1B Arizona Diamondbacks, Andrew McCutchen, OF, Pittsburgh Pirates, Yadier Molina, C, St. Louis Cardinals. Winner: McCutchen beats out the NL homerun leader Goldschmidt and Molina.

NL CY Young, Finalists: Jose Fernandez, SP, Miami Marlins, Adam Wainwright, SP, St. Louis Cardinals, Clayton Kershaw, SP, Lose Angeles Dodgers. Winner: Adam Wainwright, deserved winner because of he helped his team make it to the World Series and of his regular season record.

AL CY Young Finalists: Yu Davish, SP, Texas Rangers, Max Sherzer, SP, Detroit Tigers, Hisashi Iwakuma, SP, Seattle Mariners. Winner: Max Scherzer, his record and performance earn him this award.
