2013 NFL Week 2 Predictions

Week 1 is in the books and the defending Super Bowl champions didn’t look strong in their loss to Denver. Week 2 should be seen as another “warm-up” for many teams, so let’s see how things go.

Bye Weeks: None

Thursday Night Football:

New England Patriots def. New York Jets, 13-10. I truly believed that this would be a blowout, but it dawned on me that the Jets under Rex Ryan have played the Pats well the first time they play against each other. Lots of things need to be changed for both teams. For New England their receivers have to up their game or else Tom Brady will punch someone until Rob Gronkowski returns. As for the Jets, Stephen Hill HAS to keep his butterfingers on the ball to many costly drops and a fumble from the second year player cost New York. My suggestion for next week’s game against Buffalo, Holmes and Kerly as 1 & 2 and Hill as 4th.

Predictions:

Marquee Games:

Denver Broncos vs. New York Giants:  It’s the Manning Bowl; Peyton vs. Eli, Brother vs. Brother. Denver handedly beat the Ravens as the Giants lost in Dallas for the first time in four seasons. Prediction: Broncos further expose the Giants lack of a secondary, 45-21.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks: The two powerhouses of the NFC West will battle in the first of two meetings between the two on Sunday night football. Prediction: San Fran survives the Seahawks and the 12th man to come out with a win, 28-27.

Washington Redskins vs. Green Bay Packers: RGIII and the Skins fell to the new look Eagles offense on Monday night football, while the Packers lost a battle to the Niners. Prediction: Highly interesting game but the Pack won’t lose two in a row, 38-24.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Monday night football is the host for these two division rivals hailing from the brutal AFC North division. Both teams are coming off of loses last week, but in the case of the Steelers, this team seems lost. Prediction: Pittsburgh continues to be lost offensively, while defensively they’ve “lost” their toughness, 23-17.

Remaining Predictions:

San Diego Chargers vs. Philadelphia Eagles: Chargers, 30-27.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns: Ravens, 40-10.

Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans: Texans, 33-30.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Miami Dolphins: Colts, 27-21.

Carolina Panthers vs. Buffalo Bills: Bills, 26-23.

Atlanta Falcons vs. St. Louis Rams: Falcons, 33-24.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Dallas Cowboys: Chiefs, 29-27.

Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings: Vikings, 17-13.

New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Saints, 41-28.

Detroit Lions vs. Arizona Cardinals: Cards, 30-20.

Oakland Raiders vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: Raiders, 28-3.
